I had the fortune of meeting Jack at a YMCA event and he told me all about his time at Camp Strader, the Camp the Lincoln YMCA ran before they sold that property due to flooding, and purchased the land that became Camp Kitaki.In the late 40’s and early 50’s the Y was unable to continue operation of the camp due to the constant water. A small group of Y leaders set out to find the new home for the YMCA of Lincoln’s overnight camp programs.
